I Do

Hey All!
I love this show! How could you not?!? It had
everything. We needed to be together, you guys.
This was definitely a moment to share with others.I am
going to try my best and get everything out in
an organized fashion. I have already broken my rule
and spoken about it with several people, but it was
just too good to keep in.

Summary
How dare they give us clues to next “season” during
commercials for Daybreak?!? So we already know
several things, especially if you re-watched the clip
in slow motion 9 or 10 times. Sawyer lived, Kate and
Sawyer escape, they meet up with Desmond
somehow, more lightening with Claire and Aaron,
Charlie and Desmond get into it. Some stuff we
knew really. I think this whole thing with lightening
or electricity playing a bigger role with Aaron is
interesting. Also spoilers say the black smoke will
continue to be prominent this season. We shall see.

Connections & Questions I
I am going to break from our format because there
does not seem to be flow when I just shout things
out.

Lost is one big stereoscopic image. If you look at it
long enough, you start to see the inner picture. I
typically look for characters that could have been
people in previous episodes. Kevin looked a lot like
Ethan. I am convinced they are doing on purpose. I
am still haunted by Benry’s words, “It’s no accident
she looks like your wife.” There was a definite
character connection this episode, the minister at
Kate’s wedding. He was the head doctor in the
hearing for Jack’s dad in the episode, “All Good
Cowboys have Daddy Issues,” from season 1. I re-
watched the episode this morning and bam! The
connections were incredible. In that episode, Jack is
doing a spinal surgery (hmm) and he kills the patient
by ripping a sac (hmm). But it really was his dad’s
fault because he was covering for him because he
was drunk, and actually killed the woman in ER. The
woman was pregnant (hmmm). It’s a subtle
connection but the similarities are there. It was the
first time they think that they are not
there alone – Ethan was not on the manifest and
then disappears with Claire and Charlie. Sayid was
just released from Rousseau where she told them
about the Others being on the island before them,
the sickness and her daughter. Alex was prominent
in this episode.

What is Alex’s relationship with Benry? Definite
father undertones. He sounded as if she should have
been concerned about his surgery. Typically
father/daughter fight over a boy. She was taken
when she was a baby, she probably raised by him.

Another major point is Claire is kidnapped in that
episode. I believe she was on the original list,
(Jacob’s list) not Jack. Jack was taken instead
because Benry was selfish and wanted the surgery.
It makes more sense to me know if the
Michael’s “get-list” was suppose to be Sawyer, Hugo,
Kate, Claire. Good/Male (Hugo, Claire) and
Evil/Female (Sawyer, Kate). Danny’s
comment, “Shepard wasn’t even on Jacob’s list.”
This is also a shout out to the fact that Jack was
not supposed to be a main character on this show.
Makes a lot of sense. Still not sure where Danny’s
hate for Sawyer is coming from. I plan to go back
and watch the seasons, I think they will make a lot
more sense now, not only because now we know
what is going to happen, but now we see clues we
missed the first time or because we didn’t see how
they would fit. I didn’t become a lunatic until about
the 3rd episode of season 2. I gotta lot of ground to
make up for!

I think Kate is pregnant. I think the first test was a
false negative and that is why she is the owner of
the pregnancy test found on the plane. Sun was not
suppose to be pregnant and is. Why not Kate? Not
to mention the whole clothes thing I mentioned last
week (Mr. Friendly, “if it doesn’t fit, let me know”).

What is going to happen in 2 weeks?!? Spoilers say
that there is a big event week 9. We are at week
6. So that could be in their world 2 weeks time. 2
week clues: Benry was not suppose to live past 2
weeks. Danny was arguing with Juliette about why
they were moving “it” up. The surgery or the coup?
Benry also referenced time by the whole breakfast
with Kate and how she would go through a lot in 2
weeks. Coworker speculated that they impregnated
her. She could have been crying because of that
when Jack asked her if she was hurt. Perhaps?
Benry did seem to take a liking to Kate. He is dying,
perhaps someone to carry his seed? She would know
in 2 weeks time if she were pregnant. I think she
was crying more because she had to beg Jack to
save Sawyer’s life, thus making her choice. (Side
note: I don’t think that whole triangle is over either.
She is just more suited to Sawyer but drawn to Jack).

Connections & Questions II
Here is what Jack said to Kate on the beach: Well,
fear's sort of an odd thing. When I was in residency
my first solo procedure was a spinal surgery on a 16
year old kid, a girl. And at the end, after 13 hours, I
was closing her up and I, I accidentally ripped her
dural sac, shredded the base of the spine where all
the nerves come together, membrane as thin as
tissue. And so it ripped open and the nerves just
spilled out of her like angel hair pasta, spinal fluid
flowing out of her, the terror was just so crazy. So
real. And I knew I had to deal with it. (He's crying).
So I just made a choice. I'd let the fear in, let it take
over, let it do its thing, but only for 5 seconds, that's
all I was going to give it. So I started to count, 1, 2,
3, 4, 5. Then it was gone. I went back to work,
sewed her up and she was fine. Kind of a long code
word? But it probably means just be brave and run.
Good choice of story though. There is a way off the
island or at least back to their camp. I believe Jack
saw it on the tv screens. He was staring at one in
particular before he noticed the Kate and Sawyer
one. And from the previews we see Kate and Sawyer
with Desmond. So they will interact somehow.

“Lift your head, look North”, John 3:5. I loved that.
Perhaps he will see Sawyer and Kate? Or maybe
their way off the island? The bible verse "I tell you
the truth, no one can enter the kingdom of God
unless he is born of water and the Spirit.” I believe
where Echo didn’t repent, Locke will. Perhaps Benry
was not coming to get Locke because he was on a
list but because he needed a replacement. Locke is
the only one who closely shares Benry’s vision.
Benry can’t trust those around him. I am interested
to see when they meet again.

Finally who the heck is Jacob? Can’t be Ethan Rohm,
and Goodwin never met the Losties to know whether
or not they should be on the list. Some have
speculated eye patch guy or perhaps the “Him” Benry
referred to in the hatch. They will mention him
again, I am sure. While they are at it, please explain
the statue!

Conclusion

I am still on a high from last night and I know with all
the holidays coming, it’s good that I can focus on
stuff like, friends and family. I support ABC’s decision
to do this to us, better this than endless re-runs.
But we gotta flex those Lost mental muscles, so we
are all agreed! We will re-watch season 1 and
season 2 and have discussions during the hiatus.
Yea! No? Okay, I will re-watch season 1 and season
2 and email you periodically things I notice. I am
also working on a revised website, as I mentioned
before, and just for fun, perhaps send you an online
quiz or 2. They are fun, I swear. Well, that’s it for
now. I look forward to talking to you all again.

Until then, c-ya!
