Through The Looking Glass, Pt 2

Okay, fine! I have a BA degree in Psychology but it took RL, the math master, to bring it to my attention that I haven’t done the blog of the season finale as my subconscious way of avoiding the season ending. I just kept making excuse after excuse. But once this is written (and read) it is over until 2008. I went through mini withdrawals last year, but nothing this year. Thanks a lot RL! I was happy in my little denial bubble! But alas all good things must come to and end. And since its 10:00 p.m. Wednesday night, only fitting to get this done now.

I just wanted to give a quick shout-out to everyone who came to the party. It was fun, although extremely quick! We got to the first question of the first game and the show started! But I thank you and it would not have been as much fun if I didn’t get to view it with all of you. Looking for more bodies in ‘08 though! We won’t bite.

Although I did go through some sort of denial thing, I needed a moment to process and to think things through. I don’t know how I felt about being semi-right. I don’t know how I feel about being semi-wrong. But boy was it a stunning season finale. Not since Melrose Place when the camera pans wide showing Sidney and Michael kissing and the reflection in the window is Kimberly watching from the beach, who was presumed dead. For those of you who didn’t watch or remember, it was pretty shocking. But Wednesday we had so many shocks and great moments, it almost too much to comprehend! So let’s get to it!

Recap

Charlie is off to the Looking Glass station to save the day. Does and dies. Penny is seen again as she was in Season 2 season finale. Sayid, Jin and Bernard kill more Others and survive with the help of Hurley the hero. Ben tries to intercept Jack and crew but gets captured and beat down. Rousseau and Alex finally meet. Walt helps Locke regain faith in the island and he ends up killing Naomi and letting Jack live. Jack calls for help and someone answers but it may not be a good thing. Flash forward and we see Jack a hot mess in the future. He attends someone’s funeral and is trying like hell to get back to the island. Kate is there too but living a good life and doesn’t want to go back or talk to Jack. Episode ends and we are left staring at the screen in awesome wonder.

Summary

''I am a dentist; I am not Rambo.'' – I liked how they allowed the characters to be who they are. I would have loved it if Bernard had some backbone and didn’t crack when Jin was threatened. But that is who he is. I like Rose and Bernard’s balance on the show. Their relationship is really grounding.

''What did you do before you became Moses?” – Yet another biblical reference. I knew something was up with Naomi. The story she gave didn’t ring true for me. I believe it was just her attempt to encourage the Losties to leave the island and re-join their old lives. She made them sound like heroes. Another point, the guy on the boat didn’t seem shocked when Jack said he was a survivor of Oceanic 815. Kind of like how Tom was so cool when he encountered the raft and took Walt. I think another indication that Naomi was lying about them being presumed dead. I found it interesting how Locke was able to kill Naomi in cold blood but not Jack or his father. He wanted Jack to make the correct decision as opposed to forcing him too.

“That's for taking the kid off the raft.” – I was so glad Sawyer did it, but it was also cold blooded. I am hoping he is not the next to die as he moves away from redemption like Ecko. I just don’t get how Kate can continue to be so clueless about how Sawyer feels about her. I also like the subtle way he wants to protect her because she might be caring his baby. I thought it was sweet when Jack said he loved her knowing he can never be with her.

“Would you like to help me tie him up?” – Odd reunion. So Ben always knew about Rousseau. He just allowed her to live in the jungle unharmed. I find that strange? She didn’t know who Ben was but he definitely knew who she was when she captured him. The lovesick look in her eyes was so sad. It will be interesting to see how Alex evolves. She hates Ben but still loves him.

Connections

The numbers were all over the episode. The numbers were in the code that Charlie had to push in to un-jam the blocking system as well as license plates. The son of the woman who Jack saved is 8 years old and the woman is 42. Action 8 news reported the accident, same news crew that Tricia Tanaka worked for. Jack had 8 stitches in his forehead. The numbers were in Kate’s phone number. The person in casket died at 4 a.m. There is also a theory that the woman in the accident is Juliette’s sister Rachel.

Some other connections, the woman behind Jack in the airplane was the same woman behind him on Oceanic Flight 815. Not sure what this means but a connection to keep in mind later. I think it was just to mess with us. They have used the same background actors before and it meant nothing. The funeral parlor was called Hoffs/Drawlar which is an anagram for "flash forward". The surgeon who operated on the woman Jack saved has the same last name as Bernard. As we all noticed, Jack’s phone is a Motorola KRAZR. An indication of the present time. The newspaper Jack is reading is actually real and from the LA Times April 5, 2007. The phony story was the obituary; there was actually a story about a drug bust in its place. The text is as follows:

Los Angeles
Man found dead in downtown loft

The body of John Lantham of New York was discovered shortly after 4 a.m. in the 4200 block of Grand Avenue.

Ted Worden, a doorman at the Tower Lofts complex, heard loud noises coming from the Lantham's loft. Concerned for the tenants' safety, he entered the loft and discovered the body hanging from a beam in the living room.

According to Jaime Ortiz, a police spokesman, the incident was deemed a suicide. Lantham is survived by one teenaged son.

Memorial services will be held at the Hoffs-Drawlar Funeral Home tomorrow afternoon."

I believe most of it is accurate EXCEPT the teenage son. This is the most quoted transcription of the article, but I think someone threw that part in to convince everyone it was Michael. I believe it just may be because he supposedly got off the island. He is the Lostie with no real ties to the community and the funeral home was in a more urban part of town. Since Jack told Kate he hated lying, I wonder if some assumed a new identity when they got back. I would assume, like Jack, Michael came home with a lot of regrets. All spoilers said that Walt and Michael would be back for the season finale. We saw Walt, maybe Michael was in the casket?

Questions

I am going to break this down into 2 parts: My theory and everyone elses’. Let’s start with the opposition.

Jack’s flash forward is not set and the future can be changed. Christian may be alive since Jack may be living an alternate reality. Charlie can come back. Walt was future Walt. The moon is made of cheese. WRONG! Now I may be proven wrong, again, but I am going with my horse.

My theory. Christian is dead. TPTB (the powers that be) have said that he is dead. I think Jack is so despondent that he is referring to his dead father in the present tense. He says it kind of mockingly in way and as if he knows an inside joke. Charlie is dead. I read the actor’s interviews and his character is dead. If he comes back, it will be in a flashback or like Boone. Maybe he can become a guide for Claire if she gets in trouble in the future, kind of like how Walt was with Shannon. Speaking of Walt, Walt was not Walt from the future. Since Lost is just a TV show they can not prevent someone from aging. The camera angle was shot so that his height would appear shorter. He was wearing the same shirt he was wearing on the island. I haven’t figured out what he is leading Locke to or why? Or maybe it was just Smokey coming in the image that would most motivate Locke to renew his faith in the island. Finally, the moon is not made of cheese.

Penny was sending a transmission TO the island. She was probably in her father’s office. There was a picture with the word Namaste on it in Widemor’s office and that was the official greeting of the island when Workman and Ben arrived. Charlie had unblocked the symbol probably at the same time Jack got to the station and tried again. So the channel was finally opened out, maybe also in. Why that moment was she there and how did she know to call in?

And now to the biggest question regarding Jack’s flash forward. I believe everything that is happening on the island is a flashback. Every time a character spaces out, they are having a flashback. I believe Jack was spacing during his meltdown and was flashing back to when he made the wrong choice that led him off the island. So now what happened in the 4 years since the satellite phone transmission to the boat needs to be revealed. I believe that’s season 4. Season 5 may be the present (future). Season 6, back on the island. We may not see present Jack again until the end of the season 4, much like how we saw current time with Penny only during the season finales.

Let me explain a little more. I was so mad to see the present day and know that some made it off the island. I was like, How could they show us the end?!? Now all the mystery is gone. I think that is why some are saying it’s not true and it can be changed. But then I realized. Lost has done the impossible! My biggest concern about watching this show was once they were rescued, show over. How long could they really drag out rescue (3 seasons so far!). But they did the unthinkable. They showed us the end but in such a way that it creates more questions then answers. It’s not the point that some are rescued, but how?..what happened?…who else?….why do they want to go back? Genius!!!!

And on the other hand, they showed us the end and people are screaming, Nope! That’s not the end! It’s not true! We are so familiar with questioning everything; they have to convince us even when they give us answers. Genius!!!!

Some say they would never do Jack that way. Of course they would! WE need the happy ending. WE need them to have found find peace and redemption and closure. But life isn’t that way. They’ve killed some of our favorites, why not make Jack a mess. I am eager to know what happens on the island, how and who gets off, and what happens to them all in the end. I didn’t think they would EVER show us the future. Our Seattle members called it, good work J.Y. And I was bummed! But then, after some time, and instead of just saying that’s one option the future will change, I looked at it at face value. And it made me even more excited. Who made it out? The airlines gave them Golden Passes, so there was a crash, so what of the other Losties? Or was that covered up and they were given the Golden Passes as part of a settlement? What is the lie? And the question could now change from will they get rescued, to now who and how they got rescued, to what happens in real time-does Jack get back to the island and what is waiting for him there.

One thing that sticks in my mind was that the code in the Looking Glass was programmed by a musician. I thought maybe Charlie had programmed it in another reality. Kind of like an episode of Star Trek Generation when a life form wanted to remain unknown so Picard convinced them to erase their memories instead of killing them. But some trace memories were left so they kept re-constructing what happened. Or even more current, Matrix 2. Neo is reliving his discover and struggle with the matrix over and over, attempting to change the future by making different choices. Of course it could have just been programmed by a musician, end of story. But with Desmond supposedly time shifting, I still see that being a factor in the show…just not clear how.

Conclusion

Once again more questions than answers. But a great season overall. I may re-watch the entire 3 seasons during the hiatus just to see if there are any clues to the bigger picture now that we see more. I say we break open the shrink wrap on the Lost board game and play that sometime. Of course we can come up with an email option for those who are distance-challenged. I will keep you up-to-date on different things that come up throughout the summer. Thank you all for you great conversations and for your love of the show. I can’t wait for next year! And with that I will take my leave…hat tip, bow, curtsy, princess wave, kiss blow…C-ya!

Greatest Hits

Hey all. I have long since stopped getting this to you on time so I will save the apologies and lame excuses. It’s all ABC’s fault for putting it on so late. Next year they are moving it back to 9pm so that is totally workable. This is going to be a quick one since it was just a build up episode. Don’t forget, Lost Season Finale party is this Wednesday the 23rd at 7:30. Look for another email alerting you when the website is up with directions etc. It’s going to be sooo fun! All are welcome! On to the show….

Summary
I thought it was a really touching episode. I thought they did an excellent job with Charlie and allowing him to make some really touching goodbyes to Claire, Aaron and Hurley. I am really not sure if he is going to make it to the end of this series. There have to be some really big losses and he’s death would make sense. I hope they don’t pull a Michael and Walt and just make him disappear for a really long time. That, I won’t stand for. You can’t even say that he is a major character so they CAN’T kill him because on Lost island, everyone is vulnerable. But it was good to see that interchange and see Jack act normal again. I still hate it that they are trusting Juliet because I still think she is up to something. I think Rose brings stability and wisdom to the episode. I think it’s too easy to kill off one of them but someone has gotta go next week and it is definitely not Locke. If he had a flashback or goodbye scenes like Charlie, then maybe. But no way he would just be dead in an open grave.

Connections
There were some pretty good ones this time around. The license plate on the car was YRE2OL. When I first saw it an was working it out during the commercial break I realized it was “You’re Too Old” which makes sense since it was a young rock band’s van. But I also saw, “You’re a Tool”. But that is way too mean and believe that Lost would not go there, not to mention a stretch! It was symbolic to see Alex cutting up the white rabbit in front of Ben. It was a pointed passive aggressive move against her father. Not too many white rabbits hopping around the island for food. The Looking Glass Station was another reference to Alice in Wonderland. Also on the map there was a dharma logo of a rabbit which also support the connection. The Looking Glass station is the portal to the outside world. I think teleportation or time travel is still a stretch but this is the dock for the submarine, so where does it go from there? The numbers were all over the place, Charlie was 8 years old when he learned to swim, he could hold his breath for 4 minutes, he was the fourth person to walk by and actually helped the mugging victim, the volume indicator on the van was at level 23. The mugging victim was Nadia, Sayid’s girl. The song Charlie was singing was Wonderwall and the same song he was singing when Desmond was there. The bumper sticker on his guitar case said, :I was here moments ago.” Naomi was in the crowd of people as well. Which is incredible suspicious to me.

Ben showed again he uses Jacob to justify his own wishes. And not sure if Alex was asking or confirming if Ben was her father. I believe she was asking since Sayid put the thought in her head and obviously everyone knew but was not telling her. Karl obviously did. I further believe that Ben is trying to keep her away from Karl due to her possible dying in childbirth. I looked to see if the woman on the Looking Glass Station, Greta and Bonnie, were around before and I didn’t see any proof of that. They look familiar because they have been in a lot of other things, but not Lost.

Questions

Charlie
Desmond’s premonitions are not always accurate. So does a helicopter mean that Claire/Aaron were rescued or that they are taken by the Others. No one else is there? And what if they choose not to leave? What if they commit to one another and live on the island as people did before the incursion? I do believe that Desmond can’t keep stopping the future from happening, but I am not convinced that Charlie actually needs to die.

Naomi
So, if she is in the crowd when Charlie was singing, could she also, like Desmond, be connected to the time travel thing? No one has focused on time. They have only been lost 90 days. A greatest hits album? I thought they were a one hit wonder. I wonder if more time has passed back home then on the island. And her being in the same place as another “time traveler” is suspicious. Could be a ying/yang thing. That was the symbolism of the shirt Charlie was wearing. Like the old Quantum Leap, could Desmond be a good “jumper” and Naomi a bad one? Just watch her is all I’m saying. When Charlie was singing and it started to rain, Desmond appeared. So this ending was different this time. Was this a result of something he did? Could it be the Naomi factor? Or could it be what would have happened if Desmond hadn’t interrupted? No answers but just things to think about.

Conclusion
Overall a great build up to the season finale. I will be watching the connection/recap show that is on tonight just because the last one had some really neat connections that I missed the first viewing. I am really going to miss this show after next week. But we can always play the board game in my office during prep periods. Just to keep the fires burning until Jan 08. I hope to see you all at the party. Until next week, c-ya!

The Man Behind the Curtain

Okay, I am still shaking. WOW! Let me just say this now and then follow up later, LOCKE IS NOT DEAD! No spoiler, but I am one with this show and I KNOW he is not gone. By a LONG SHOT. Oh yeah…by the way….LOCKE IS JACOB! I don’t need to watch the show anymore! I got it. Wow!

Okay…I am going to gather my thoughts and then we will tackle this completely long blog. There is a nice trend that they are sharing information with each other. That was really starting to get annoying.

Summary
For starters, I forgot to blog last week. Blame it on my coworkers as we discuss LOST at work on Thursday and I forgot to write it up. I will touch on last week’s episode as it relates to this week. I want credit for the Wizard of Oz connection. I pointed it out to R.L. earlier today so I get credit. What I was saying is that Ben, formerly known as Henry Gale, got that name from the Wizard of Oz, I believe Dorothy’s uncle. The whole episode when he was caught was similar to Oz as he landed in a strange place in a hot air balloon, supposedly. I made the connection that like the Wizard of Oz, Dorothy was asked to kill the Wicked Witch of the West so that she could go home which is similar to Locke having to bring his dead father to learn the secrets of the island. Now I have never seen the Wizard of Oz, only The Wiz. Chalk it up to cultural differences. This episode, The Man Behind the Curtain, again references more that movie as Richard Pryor as the Wiz was a fake. The answer to going home was that they had the power all along. I will take it a step further and say that you are the master of your own fate. And that is why I believe that Locke is Jacob. Now it may be that Jacob changes depending on who sees him, I’m not sure. But that was Locke in that chair. He’s appearance was older and a little altered, but the bump in the nose, balding hair underneath an old wig, that was Locke. He also used smoke and a booming voice to square the gang from getting closer and seeing behind the curtain. I believe what Jacob did in the cabin was meant to have the same effect.

I am going to be jumping all over the place so forgive me in advance. I believe Alex gave Locke the gun to protect him from Ben not Jacob. She knew that if he really was to be the new leader, he would need to protect himself from Ben. For a minute I thought it was going to be Walt. The painting of a golden retriever, then him speaking to him like he was a child, “Stop it, you’ve had your fun”. An interesting tone to take with an omnipotent being. There are also reasons to support that it was Locke. He told Locke that like him, Jacob doesn’t like technology such as batteries or electricity. It looked similar to Locke. My theory is of time shift so that it could be him from a different dimension. Richard Alpert isn’t aging so there is something definitely going on about that. Remember Echo telling Locke “Your Next”. Perhaps the next to be the new leader, not the next to die. Of course him lying in the pit definitely points to the latter. But Paolo and Nikkie were there too and they were next to die. The biggest thing that proves it wasn’t is a close up of Jacob’s eye. It had brown eyes and Locke’s are blue.

Some have theorized that it was the captain from the original Black Rock ship. Richard Alpert being an ageless pirate. They landed on the island and have adjusted to living forever. They don’t believe they are hostiles since they were on the island first. Perhaps that is why Ben is their leader. He has helped them evolve throughout the years, similar to Interview with the Vampire. Or perhaps because they were worshipping this entity that only Ben can see and communicate with.

Locke couldn’t see Jacob because he didn’t actually kill his father. He wasn’t ready to learn the truth. Ben didn’t expect for Locke to be able to hear him. I believe it was Locke, yet again, and the “help me” was not for Jacob, but what Locke would utter in the future after being shot. It did seem like Jacob was contained, but by what and why? What is the connection between Jacob and the smoke monster?

I do believe that Ben is lying. I think he tells the people what he wants them to hear, not what Jacob really wants. Jacob’s list is a lie and I believe who Ben wanted. In that sense, Ben is controlling things. Ben protects children since he had such a jerk for a father (daddy issues). And maybe his obsession with the mothers is so that no other child needs to go through what he went through, being led to believe they killed their mother by being born.

Let’s back up. They gave us so much this week. Let’s talk about all the connections. Just outside of Portland is where the recruiting takes place. This is where Ben’s father was recruited and where Juliet was as well. The mile sign added together equals the numbers. We see that Roger Workman is Ben’s dad. Three Dog Night's song "Shambala" was playing in the van when Ben and his dad went for a beer and when Hurley made it run again. Both of Ben’s parents died on his birthday. We see Ben’s fascination with the bunny. Also following the white rabbit is a reference to Alice in Wonderland. Noticeably not shown was the DeGroots or Mr. Wickman/Marvin Candle. They did explain Mikhail being alive. I loved the whole Planet of the Apes thing between Locke and him. Locke was right. He did have to beat up Mikhail to prove his was ready to take over. Naomi doesn’t seem like a plant and there has to be some sore sort of set-up going on. Either that or perhaps a parallel universe in which the plane did crash into the ocean. I wonder how the message birds will figure into all of this. The coordinates from last week that Naomi was following was, "Latitude 4.815, Longitude 162.342” the numbers. We know that the numbers also led Rousseau’s ship there. Ben and Locke have mothers named Emily. Emily=Em, Aunt Em and the wizard of Oz. Jin didn’t know he was sterile that is why he was shocked. I believe in Korean what he said was, “who’s else would it be?” After Juliet said she conceived it with her husband Jin. Remember the Sun said she had Endometriosis but it was Jin that was sterile.

Questions
Are you kidding?!? How is Richard Alpert the same age as he was when he first met Ben? The uterus x-ray that was brought to Juliet was presumed to be an old woman but in fact was very young. How can Richard Alpert move back and forth off of the island? .

The whispers were back. Is it just the Others or really a parallel universe? I read some transcripts of the whispers and it sounds like people watching and commenting on what they see. They may be of the dead.

Richard helps Locke because he feels the mission of the Others has been misdirected by Ben and fertility issues. Sawyer dealt with his dad issues by killing him. That was a pretty emotional moment. Watch out for Sawyer dealing with his issue and now possibly ready to die. I still am suspicious of Jack. This alliance with Juliet has hurt his credibility too much. Juliet wants to help herself, so she should still not be trusted. She KNOWS Jack and Claire are brother and sister. If she tells him, I may trust her more. But the more she keeps that quiet, the more I still think she is up to no good. She always knows what to say or do to create the illusion of trust.

Conclusion
I don’t know who or what Jacob is. He may or may not be Locke. But I do not Locke is not dead. And even though we got a huge piece of the puzzle, there is still a lot more to learn. I am having a LOST season finale party at my new digs. Food, drink, prizes and fun! Also no fast forwarding this time so that we don’t have another “incident”! And I don’t want to hear about how late it is….LOST will be gone until January!!! You will have plenty of time to catch up on your rest. I didn’t watch the preview because they are so misleading. But I still can’t wait to see what happens next. So until next week, c-ya!

D.O.C. (From Last Week)

Hey everybody! For those of you who don’t know, I went to the Bahamas last week for my dad’s wedding. Had a great time, but now I am back! So back to work. No, not the one I get paid for, the Lost Blog. So below is the blog from last week. I was going to just throw something up but it was SUCH a great episode I really needed to focus and really absorb it. And I can’t combine it with this week because whatever I thought was going on last week, could be not true this week!

Summary
To refresh your memory, it was called D.O.C. (Date of Conception) and it featured a flashback of Sun and Jin, interaction between Sun and Juliette, Naomi and the guys in the jungle. I thought it was excellent. Some funny lines, Hurley testing the satellite phone by saying, “Mom?” and Mikhail commenting on Naomi healing fast, “yeah, you’re right…it might take a day and a half”. I loved Jin kicking his butt. It’s about time the Losties were on the winning end of a fight.

Connections
This is the first time a father-son issue is positive. The baby is Jin’s and his father seemed to love him. This is a direct contradiction to everyone else who has had daddy issues. In fact, Jin seems to be doing pretty good on the island. Everyone comes to him for help, he is learning English, can kick an Others ass, his wife loves him again and is carrying his baby. Not sure what it means, but it may be important in the future. The parallel in the story is that HIS father doesn’t know if he is his true father and Sun didn’t know if he was the true father of her baby. Every time Sun is in the garden something bad happens. She was attacked by Charlie, Jin destroyed it once during a fight, always something significant.

Naomi saying that the plane was found and everyone is dead was eerie. It was similar to the walkie talkie scene when they said we are the survivors of 815 and the response was no, we are the survivors of 815, which turned out to be the Tailies. Could some of the survivors been found and lead everyone to believe that everyone else was dead? How do Cindy and the kids figure into this? Remember they seemed not to be affected by the fact that they were still stranded. It really got me thinking about time travel. Maybe they will be found in the future and those that want to stay will stay and the ones that leave swear to never reveal the island and that everyone else is dead. It’s a stretch…but anything is possible on Lost island.

Sun was trying to protect Jin by paying the blackmailer (Jin’s mom). But by doing so, sold out Jin, which lead him to work for her father, which ended in the destruction of their marriage. Not a true Catch-22 but similar to other Losties trying to do something to avoid something else and then something worse happening.

Naomi was speaking 5 languages (English is 1):
“I am dying” in Spanish, “Help me, I’m dying” in Italian, “What happened” in Chinese, “I am not alone” in Portuguese.

Questions
Pregnancy
Now, we know Juliette hates Ben. She is doing whatever she can to stay alive and to get off the island. I believe everything she said the Sun was accurate and correct. If the room was where women came to die, could that be why quarantine is written on the inside of the hatches leading out? Perhaps they at one time thought that something outside was killing the unborn children.

I don’t believe they knew Sun was pregnant and it will be an added surprise for Ben. He said he would get Juliette more women to study. I think we know what Ben meant when he told Kate on the beach that it was going to be a rough 2 weeks. I think they were playing with her emotions and waiting for her to ovulate. Then they encouraged a situation in which she would have sex. She was in a cage and if you have been watching how they try to make panda bears mate, it makes sense. Every action movie the male & female characters fall into each others arms at some point, same thing here. Additionally, Danny wanted to kill Sawyer since they no longer needed him. If men have 3x the sperm count, they only needed him to have sex with Kate once. I am curious to know what other samples Juliette was taking from the women. It obviously is not to help them.

Mikhail
Remember when Ms. Klugh asked Michael if he had ever seen Walt in a place he wasn’t suppose to be? Well, I thought she was referring to Desmond. But it is shaping up to be more like Mikhail. Which makes more sense since Mikhail and Ms. Klugh were later together. If Locke can go from total paralysis to walking, maybe Mikhail’s gift is the ability to regenerate himself. I don’t think he is a clone because as my coworker RG said, why create a clone with an eye patch? I don’t think they all can come back to life because why burn Colleen at sea? Not to mention, Danny was willing to kill Sawyer. Why kill him if he can just come back to life? And I still believe it's not purgatory. So I am going with either he was not dead to begin with OR he has the ability to heal. Perhaps, like Naomi, it was an injury that could have killed him but he was able to lie there long enough for them to leave and for him to get back up. He smiled and seemed happy to walk into the fence. Juliette did look a little funny when she looked off to where Ethan was buried…but I not convinced what that was about. Maybe he thought if they believed they would be killed too if they crossed the fence, it was a way for him to get away and maybe stop them from discovering the village.

Naomi
“I am not alone”. Who was she with? I believe that Mikhail was expecting her and that is why he was running towards the flare. He is in charge of communicating with the outside world so it makes sense he was the one to come looking for her. I think the Others lost contact with the outside world and knew that after a certain amount of time or perhaps called for help and someone came. Mikhail was after the satellite phone. I am more convinced that she is an Other.

Again, her saying that the wreckage was found and everyone is dead, either a set-up now that she is coherent OR a set-up by the Others. I personally like the time explanation I stated above, but these other 2 explanations are more likely.

Conclusion
Of course, you have probably already seen Wednesday’s episode which probably made everything I am guessing completely wrong. I will send this week's blog in the morning.
