Season 2 - Final Thoughts

I told you I needed time to reflect more!

Funny to open my email and hear from YOU. Oh what will we do without our shows??? Perhaps talk to our family, go out doors...maybe even pick up a book? NAW!

I think the foot ties into the whole cloning thing. Perhaps not everything comes out right. Or maybe the whole time shift thing and that statue is left over from another time and another civilization. We don't know how old the island is. There is a quote from the play, Headlong Hall, "Here you see is the pedestal of a statue, with only half a leg and four toes remaining: there were many here once." I have tried to hunt down more about that but it has eluded me. So I am going with Lost civilization for now.

I think that them having names just shows that they are not the Others we thought. Everything is a lie, from the beard to their camp to their names. I have not found in any connections with their names and the Losties.

The Dickens book, Our Mutual Friend, It centers on the theme of "money, money, money, and what money can make of life". A young man is on his way to receive his inheritance, which he can only claim if he marries a beautiful, mercenary girl whom he has never met. However, before he can arrive, a body is found in the Thames and identified as him. The money passes on, instead, to the Boffins, and the effects spread throughout various corners of London society. Ties to Lost? Desmond is presumed dead but he isn't on his way to be with the woman he loves, or more correctly, redeem his honor for the one he loves.

Below is the email I was typing...just some final thoughts:

Hi all. Cant let go yet.

We took the quiz during the party and there were a few outstanding questions. We knew the answers just kept changing them in the wrong order.

Sayids university: Cairo University

Boones blood type: A Negative

Charlies tattoo: Living is easy with your eyes shut.

Sawyers book: Watership Down

I had another quick question: If Rose and Locke were cured by the island. If the Electro-magnet field is destroyeddoes that mean they will get sick again?

Okay. I thought it was a solid season. I loved the lines by Sawyer. Charlies transformation. The introduction of Echo. I liked Jin and Suns relationship. Absolutely love Sayids strength.

I hated Lockes struggle and hope to see him recover from his latest mistake. I also didnt like the whole Michael thing. The deaths seemed pointless.

The show has resolved the issue with the electromagnetic field, the numbers, the computer. More questions about the Others, the experiment, and why them?

I think the new direction of the show might be more contact between real-time on the island, real-time in the world and flashbacks (Libby, Claire (no big prior connection to another Lostie), the Real Sawyer). If the charade is over, will we learn more about the experiment? I am excited to see what possible direction it can still go in, without revealing too much and keeping us interested. Sadly, I cant see it going for more that 2 more seasonsunless you add new characters or another crash. Perhaps the Others will get flashbacks?

I am going to stick with my unsubstantiated theory:
These people have some connections, but most are purely coincidental. They have flaws and issues to resolve, but are basically good people. They were all on the same flight and the flight was brought down by a mistake that occurred on a hidden island that is being used for experimentation by the Hanso Foundation. The electromagnetic pulse disrupted cabin pressure and tore the plane apart. Once on the island, some where chosen to be exempt from the experiment. I believe they were released. Others were chosen to be part of the experiment such as Aaron and Walt. The main characters naturally just gravitated to it by their curiosity. Once you are on the island, you cannot leave. The island cannot be found because not only is the EM keeping it hidden, but also there is a shift in time. The Others want to continue their experiment with those that are chosen to be special from the group. Since they have contact with the outside work, they know who they want. Widmor Corporation funds the Hanso Corporation. The monster are rifts in time as well as the voices. They want to be left alone to experiment, but they need 2 more people, Walt and Aaron. As a result, the experiment has been compromised. Everything else is wild hoaxes to keep everything secret. There are cameras and surveillance throughout the island, which is why they are always a step ahead of them. I believe Penny is tracking the EMP or she has a tracking device on the boat and when the EMP occurred, it allowed the signal to get through. Henry is a higher up and once in the trap, wanted to learn more about the personalities of the Losties. He was intel 100%. I believe they still want Aaron and eventually Suns child. But like Alex, they dont hurt the children, she became part of the experiment. I believe that Walt is not Walt. Perhaps a twin. I thought that Lost was more like the movie Unbreakable with Bruce Willis. I wont spoil the ending, but disasters occurred in an attempt to find the hero. I thought that people were put together in an attempt to get them on the island for experimentation. But no way to control who lives and who dies? So I think it was an accident for them to be therebut the once they are there, they are forced to stay and participate. But the more I thinkthe more I change and twist my theory. Not to mention actual proof that typically blows it all to hell!

Anyway.good night and good luck.

Live Together, Die Alone

Look Familiar?!?

Let me just start by saying thanks for a great party!!! Lots of food, fun, games..you guys forgot your prizes!!! Thanks to everyone who came and for my lovely gifts. It was great. Next year it will be bigger and better.

How pray tell can I make it even better??? Well for startersI wont fast forward 10 minutes of the show!!! We missed soooooooooooo much last. I was on the boards at midnight going what? Desmond saw Libby?!? But I downloaded it this morning and re-watched.

There are a ton of crazy and insane theories flying now that some have been dispelled and others have been confirmed. Lets start with our regular format.

Summary
Well, we now know how the plan came down. The result of Desmond not pushing the button. The rest of the world exists. They all know that Michael double-crossed them and killed Ana-Lucia and Libby. We know why those four - to keep Jack, Sawyer, Kate and have Hurley tell the group not to go after them. We see Desmonds back story and why and how he got to the island. Michael and Walt are reunited. Charlie and Claire share their first kiss. A lot of my questions or hopes were answered. I want morebut then what would the point of the show be if they told us too much? So it was enough for mesolid season, good finale. Great would have been black smoke going up to Hurley and reading him on his way back (Although I am sure that he will meet with Jin or Sayid on his way). Turning over the guy they shot to reveal who he was (some think Mr. Candle/Wichman because he looked Asian). Maybe Walt saying something cryptic to Michael. But all in all I liked it.

Connections
The cell block where Desmond was 5B(The numbers). He has a pocket watch that he was given when he got out of jail. (Jin had Suns dad watch-some connection to time). Ethan is the man who interrogated Sayid in the gulf. Libby (Elizabeth) was the woman Desmond was talking to in the airport. Widmor Corporation sponsored the race around the world, Desmonds girlfriends dad, company Michael worked for and maker of Suns pregnancy test. Libbys husband is named David. Hurleys alter ego was named Dave. Connection? I think so! .. There were about a million ah-ha moments in the show between Desmond and Locke, all centering around how their lives intersected. I think that Locke feels his life lacks purpose. But his actions give purpose to other people (Charlie, Desmond, Echo).
But since he cant see it in hishe thinks he is wrong. That is why he couldnt accept that Echo would continue pushing the button if he didnt want tohe needed to prove it was wrong and by doing that make sense of everything.

Questions
Okay since my coworkers are hounding me, I am going to make this quick. I reserve the right to send supplements in the future.

I read that the whispering in the forest was saying Elizabeth. Not sure why or how that impacts anything. Is it a massive stereo system on the island that is causing the whispers or what?!? I have always thought it was someone speaking on another dimensionmy time warp theory. More evidence of that is when they showed the 2 researchers at the end. One was named Lenny. Lenny supposedly went crazy and was in the mental institution with Hurley. That is where Hurley got the numbers. But of course that was in real time. But what IS real time on Lost island??? Everyone on the net was screaming that the researcher on the phone was Jacks twin. STRONG resemblance but the ear lobes are different. That would be an interesting twistbut too much a stretch. But back to Lenny, if it was Hurleys Lenny, the time is all off. And the time seems to be making more sense with the plane crash happening 9-22-04, same time the series started.

I think there is something up with Walt. Henrys comment about We got more than we bargained for. What does that mean?!? And remember back to Miss Klughs questions of Michael (Has Walt ever been in a place he wasnt suppose to be?). He just seemed strange and unconcerned about what was going on. Not to mention, no mention of Vincentwhich was really important to him before.

I like the snow globe theory. That they are stuck somewhere they cannot get out of, once they are in. A big Island Oasis. Perfect place to experiment.

I found it interesting that after Desmond turned the key, that part of the experiment is over. The Others didnt seem overly concerned about the magnetic field going off. They reacted to the sound, but once it was over, they went back to business. Also Charlie was pretty happy when he came back. He said, Echo and Locke hadnt made it back yet? What if what he meant was that they werent back from looking for Henry Gale? Maybe that light erased his memory slightly. I assumed he meant back from the hatch. He just seemed too happy. Of course the other option is that there was some resolution that we have yet to see and it will be shown Season 3.

Libby didnt seem to be plotting against Desmond. But she has been around a lot of the Losties. I am looking for one more to be convinced that she is an Other. Perhaps a connection to Jack since Her husband was sick. Maybe he was treated by Jackher and Desmond are back in the US.

Claire was also an idiot to just start to inject her son. But it did look like Michael was getting the sickness, on his hand and forehead. Maybe she is not so dumb after all.

The Others seemed okay letting go of the façade. It seemed as though they no longer needed to hide it. Henry is a top person but not the tippy top.

Closing
Wellthats it until September. Thanks for all the input, kudos and great conversations. Next year, there will be no reruns, yea! They will run 7 episodes, go away for 8 weeks (New cop show), 6 more til the season finale. I prefer that because it doesnt disrupt the flow of things. Of course those middle months are going to be hardbut we will survive.

Until the FallC-ya!!!

Three Minutes

More like 12 hours! :)

Three Minutes Lost Discussion

Hello all! Late as usual. L I had a Brownie graduation to facilitate and I was scrubbing the frosting off carpet at 9pm so I watched Lost later that night. The kids were late to school because I had to re-watch it this morningthus the delay in the discussion. Not so much solved, instead more questions. I am not even sure how to organize this episode. I think I will go step by step and we can discuss along the way

I was so mad that the previews of the Others was really a short flashback for Michael. I thought they were really going to interface with them. I just had a whole crazy theory I just deleted about the date stampblah, blah, blah. But the caption is to show us what else was happening on the island and the flashbacks are just memories that the Lost people are having. Perhaps we dont get a date stamp so that we cannot figure out when all this is happening, or as some think, those are implanted memories and connections.

I loved the story Echo chose to tell Michael. I think he knows something is up but his button mission is too important so he lets it go. He wont even leave to get his things. His church mission allowed Charlie to focus on something else and get past his demons. Although not built, Echo had completed that mission. Remember, Echo asked Charlie to help him. Being the only one besides Sawyer who would speak to him at that time. He gave Charlie a mission and renewed faith in himself.

Cant skip over Sawyers lines: Captain Arab and I screwed her. You what? We got caught in the net. I liked how Sawyer was sensitive this episode. Of course this means he will over compensate next time and be an ass. But it was nice. I LOVE Sayid, new favorite. He knew right away Michael was plotting. Not sure why it wasnt more obvious why he would want Kate to go instead of Sayid??? Duh!

Some quick connections: Miss Klugh was the woman in Echos black smoke vision. Some say she was also on the healers wall unconfirmed. When Miss Klugh said, For someone who wants his son so badly, you dont seem to know him at all. Same thing the lawyer said to him when he lost custody. Alex is Rousseaus daughter.

Question about Others

I thought it was interesting that Pickett shot at Michael first. Zeke stopped him, but if he knew they needed him, why shoot at him. I dont think they were expecting him, it was Walt sending the messages. They were holding him underground but let him out from time to time. We see Zeke back in costume. Either him and the other one are twins, or maybe some of the Others are part of the experiment and some are not. I noticed the similarities between Pickett and Sawyer. (See you in the funny papers, so your Walts old man, country twang in voice). There are other important people but these 4 have been focused on. They must have known by viewing the hatch that they were coming with guns to find Michael. It seemed like Alex has a problem with this whole experiment thing. She was nice to Claire and assures Michael that his friends wont be hurt, they are just scaring them away. They knock him out so he doesnt see what else happens. They want Henry back probably because he was getting to close to Locke. He even said that they would kill him if he said anything. I am not sure what side Henry is on. I dont think he is on the side of the Others anymore.

Question about Walt

I think there are several things going on with Walt.

Good Walt: I think Walt was tying to send a message to Michael but Michael was too desperate to listen. Walt told his dad to calm down. He asked about Vincent (which is strange how Vincent knew to bring the statues to Charlie and not someone else psychic link). Walt said they make me take tests. He almost sounded apologetic. I think more to measure, understand and control his abilities rather than to hurt him. All the questions from Klugh about seeing Walt where he shouldnt be. We have seen this in Shannons visions. I think they are using Walt on the survivors. They are running tests on him by having him run tests on them. I believe Walt knows Michael is going to die and was telling him he loved him as a good bye. Walt kept saying Dont leave me Dad. He was trying to tell Michael not to go get Henry and do what he was about to do. If he just stayed and didnt get Henry.then what? They said he would never see his son again. Not that they would kill him or Walt. So many undertones and double meanings. And the room?!? What does the room make Walt do? It didnt sound like a punishment for him, but rather a punishment to those he loves. They wouldnt hurt him, remember.

Bad Walt: I dont get into the commercials, websites, phone numbers stuff that goes along with the show (Hanso Foundation). But there was a common clue that runs through all of them and I think on the map somewhere? Heir Apparent -one whose succession especially to a position or role appears certain under existing circumstances. So perhaps it is Walt running things. He may not have control of his powers so he is not in control yetbut he will be. He is still a kid with a lot of power. When he was being taken away, it was more of him trying to stay but understanding why he was being carried away. I am thinking there is something else up with Walt. Why is he still in the old clothes from the plane crash. Why not at least change him. I thought he was just a vision but when he touched him he was real. But he didnt run up right away to see him. Only after his dad kept saying he would do anything to get him out of there.

And when he said they arent who they say they are, theyre pretending. Does he mean the others or potentially someone else at the camp? Could it be our fearless four? We know Sawyer is pretending, Kate on the run, Hurley in a mental institution. Or maybe he was telling us what we already assumed. That the Others are pretending and are really the scientists.

Questions in General

Miss Klugh never asked Michael to kill anyone. Just to make up a story. But she must have known because she said, They will be angry enough to follow you.

Why Kate, James, Hugo, Jack. Michael said to Jack, Only those that already know. Know what??? Sayid saw Henry, everyone was at the funeral. Echo and Locke were off to track down Henry because of the shooting. So why them? I see some connections but to me, Hurley is the odd choice. Except his connection to the numbers. The running theory is that because they all had visions of people or things while they were awake, that is why they were chosen. Some others think the whole dad thing. I dont have a clue. I think it is more of their similarities to the Others. Zeke & Jack play similar roles, Pickett & Sawyer, Alex & Kate, not sure how Hugo fits in. Miss Klug reminds me more of Echo or possibly Locke. Hugo is the key to figuring this out. And why ask by their first and last name? Why not Kate, Jack, Sawyer and Hurley. That is what they are called in the hatch. Its not the manifest because Ethan never got it. Kate and Sawyer were suppose to be on that flight but Jack and Hugo got lucky (Jack didnt have the right papers for the casket and Hurley didnt fit). Also Sawyer had been going by that name for yearsnot hard to believe he had fake identification. What is so important about those four but excludes Charlie, Claire, Sayid and Locke? I see the connections between Sawyer, Jake, Katebut not Hurley.

Conclusion

The boat at the end is Desmonds that he used to sail around the world. This is where we see the return of Desmond, hopefully what happened to his partner, and how Libby fits into all this. Also notice the stock pile of tubes that were suppose to carry the journals.? Of course Jack finds them instead of Echo and Locke who would know instantly what it means. Saw the explosion that throws Charlie curious to see what it does to Locke and Echo. Does Echo make it out or is he caught in the door like Henry. Who is Sawyer shooting at? Who dies?!?! I think the black smoke had something to do with the plane coming down. But Desmond would have pushed the button so it was not his fault. It gives more evidence that it does nothing. If not pushing it made the plane come downwhy was Desmond still there pushing it when they found him? Questions, questions, questions!!!! See ya next weekhopefully for the answers!

?

They caught me this time. I typically can get this out much sooner but they grabbed me at the door and forced me to work. But I tried to stay faithful to the group as much as I could.
Begin scene:
Child: Mommy, why are you watching Lost this morning?
Me: Put your socks and shoes on for school!
Child: But Mommy you watched it last night?
Me: Yes, I know but I needed to review the numbers on the transcript from the hatch one more time.
Child: What hatch?
Me: Get dressed! We gotta go!
And...End scene. Children late for school.
So I tried.

Summary
Solid episode. I have never been so happy to see someone spit up blood in all my life. But unfortunately our dear Libby is gone. She will however be connected through flashbacks still, she is not off the show but character Libby is dead. I didn't hear any good Sawyer lines tonight. Freckles was the only reference he made. Also the Artist Formerly Known as Henry Gale. I miss those. Of course if I wasn't studying the show like the bar exam I might have felt some sort of emotion when Hurley said, "I'm sorry I forgot the blankets." Cut to Jack looking away. So sad. Everyone's lips moving saying "Shot me" after she blurted out Michael!. But of course, they couldn't give us that! I think the show did a good job at giving us a little more but adding additional questions.

Connections
I noticed when the showed Echo's brother that there was a glass of water next to the computer. Water=Dead people. It rains when something is going to happen. Kind of like in the movie Sixth Sense, red=dead people. The biggest connection was Claire's psychic being the dad of the little girl. I'll talk about that more in questions. Echo's passport date 8/23/1968, date on passport 4/16/2004...the numbers. The Pearl video narrator introduced himself as Mr. Mark Wichman, but on the Swan film he was Marvin Candle. Wick=Candle. He had both hands this time and a prosthetic hand in the Swan video. Did he lose it in the accident? Is he a twin?

Questions
I really had more questions this time around.
1) "You need John for this." Why? Just because he had the map or because he needed to help renew his faith? Echo was limping, Locke on crutches..let's send them to track down Henry who is armed??? And they never did find his track. Echo wasn't looking but Locke was. Is he still in the hatch? Perhaps he left out of another tunnel or door? I think John was brought because of his unwavering faith in the button. He was the one that needed to be convinced to still push it. Echo's brother said he has important work. Maybe the Swan is real and the Pearl is the experiment??? Maybe the goal is to find all the hatches? There was a camera in there too! I knew they were being watched. Funny how no other tv would work besides the hatch. The island is probably like our current cell tower system, antennas and poles look like palm trees. When Locke and John were at the campsite, I could have sworn there was black smoke there too. I also thought it interesting that they had a time elapsed clip of the tree and the clouds moving. Did they find the ? or just the Pearl Hatch and the ? is still out there? The plane was pointing like an arrow. Could be something...could be nothing.

2) Why was the Swan film cut into 2 pieces and hidden on a different part of the island and the Pearl video was on video. The Pearl video should have been the older one as the man on the Swan film (if he was the same guy and not a twin) didn't have a hand and looked older? He also mentioned the ferry would take them back to the barracks. I think the boat that the Others were on was that ferry. They dress up in costume to pick them up and drop them off, just in case they are seen by the people in the experiment. That would answer why they take the children as to not experiment on them. Walt never really knew his dad and Claire was going to give her baby up, so being taken for them in their minds might have been okay. I hope not...I like the crazier theories better.

3) The Psychic. He may have been a fake...but he wanted both Claire and Echo on that plane. If Echo would have realized that the girl's death was a miracle, then he would have stayed. It was the father who prevented him from doing so. Just as he told Claire that she had to get on that specific flight. Some think he is part of the experiment, but I don't think so. I think he knew they were suppose to be there and made sure that they would be.

4) The numbers. I think that that computer could talk to the other one. Maybe they were told to lure Michael out of the bunker. It might have been another computer at another hatch. They could probably have seen a video of the shooting if they at all questioned it. There at least will be something in the transcripts to show whether or not Henry pushed the numbers. As Sayid did the calculations regarding the radio transmissions, he will probably do it with this is as well. Will something happen when the numbers hit 48151623:42. Have they already? When Locke hit print, how do we know when it started or ended? Again...more questions. They were not the numbers typed in but some sort of time stamp. A countdown of some sort. Maybe its not their numbers they are pushing...perhaps the printout not related to the numbers at all but to something else? Questions!!!!

Conclusion
I could go on and one....but I think it really is all questions and no answers. Libby is dead without any clear understanding to why she is there, Michael is working against them to get his son, Echo and Locke are going to join forces or work against each other in the end, the island is an experiment - but why them, when is it over, will they ever be free.....all. Next week show's Sayid actually questioning Michael's behavior. We are exposed to the Others, but not the REAL Others. I would love to think that they will let us in but I am not holding my breath. The show is extremely good at splintering off into another direction. I hope all the roads lead home. Until next week.....

Two For the Road

Hello all! I had to do the walk of shame this morning. Not THAT walk of shame, the other one where I walked past my coworkers offices as they looked at me with anticipation and disgust. I needed more hours to collect my thoughts. This going to be a long one. This episode was jam packed with clues, questions, spin off theories, bible references etc. I cant put it all in especially since its all supposition (Thrown in for our nameless lawyer group members). But Ill see if I can put most of it in before everyone starts calling and emailing me to fix their computers and forcing me to work on work timethe nerve!

From last night

Wow!!! I am in shock. I was just about to type I knew it!!! And then Libby was shot. Didnt see that coming. Ana Lucia was as good as dead as soon as she was caught drunk driving in real life. But Libby?!? She can be dead!!! Too many unanswered questions. I thought for sure Ana Lucia was going to give him the wrong combination. Either to stop him or to test him. My thoughts are racingokay, okay. Back to the format.

Summary

Sawyer had the lines tonight: Im not gonna gimme me you nothing. Love it. Also Guess that takes cuddling off the table. Was Ana really that good that he forgot about the gun?!? 60+ days will do that to a man. Loved Hurleys Say Anything reference. Of course us true fans didnt need all that explanation. Leave a little crumbs for us to find writers! Just like when Ana Lucia and Jacks dad were outside the bar. We knew this is where he meets Sawyer and does his confession about forgiving Jack. We didnt need Sawyer running into the car too. But maybe for more of the connection that Ana Lucia will eventually sleep with that man. Note to all woman: Sex=Death on the island. First Shannon and now Ana Lucia. Just like in the 80s horror flicks.

It seems that Locke keeps missing the mark. He questions Michael being backbut not that he could be a mole, but that they should let go of Henry. Just like the map. He is trying to recreate it instead of thinking about what happened when he held down the key. Henry (Fenry = fake Henry as he is called on the boards) is really a snake in the grass. Im not sure what to believe. I think there is a little truth in what he was saying about Ana Lucia but not necessarily about Locke. Besides Walt and Claire, no other Survivor was kidnapped. Only the Tallies had children and adults taken. Why Locke and why now? Why not sooner?

And the look on Libbys face when Hurley said Maybe I can get drunk enough and remember where I know you from. Chills. She is totally the chills woman. I hope shes not dead yet.

Connections

They made the connections clear cut this time. Sawyer, Ana Lucia, Jack. All connected by Jacks dad. It seems as though perhaps Jacks dad is connected to all of them eventually in some way. Some think Jacks dad is the leader. There was no body in the casket from the plane. His life was over, perhaps faked his own death? Also Henry saying that the leader was very intelligent but unforgiving. I think if Jacks dad was connected to the experiment in any way, it would make sense. I have more thoughts that it could be Henry. The master puppeteer. We shall see more next week. Some even think that Claire is Jacks half sister. Beyond her being Australian and Jacks father having an illegitimate daughter thats the only connection so far.

Patsy Cline song again on the radio. She died in a plane crash.

Cop cars when Ana Lucia pulled into the lot 15, 16 23. I thought I saw a 4 and an 8 too. Interest ding that Michael said there were 22 others in the tents. Who is he not counting? Henry? Or himself? The combination to the safe is a bible passage. Short version: an uprising.

Questions

Who is dead? For sure Ana Lucia. From the previews, to her appearance on GMA, she is dead (And going to start a clothing linebut that is a topic for another day). Was she killed because she killed the Others and Michael was sent for retribution? Or was she just a means to an end to get Henry out? Remember Rousseau talking about the sickness? Watch them, they will change. Who is watching Michael. No one! Well maybe its not a sickness, but a conversion or brainwashing. I dont think Michael is functioning based on brainwashing but fear and desperation. But I think he has the sickness Rousseau was talking about.

The shooting of Libby was a surprise shooting. I dont think that was expected. But not sure that she is dead. Maybe coma? There is still soooo much that needs to be revealed about her. No flashbacks to date about her. And back to the whole Hurley thing. Was she following him and ended up on the plane together? Does Libby have a twin? We know there is an evil twin underlining story. I thought for sure that Henry would turn out to be Libbys brother. If dead, she will live on in someone elses flashback.

I think they are being watched. From Michael on the computer to Michael coming back. How would they know if he did what they told him to do? He has a better chance with the survivors on his side then trusting the Others. Once Henry is gone, it will be interesting to see how Michael continues to lie and manipulate them. Everything they truly know about the Others is discussed outside and not in the hatch. I think that is a key to somethingI dont know what!

Kate knew Michael was lying because of the costumes. But as alwaysno one confronts or shares information. It supports the 2 Others camp theory. One that are survivors just like them and another that run the island.

I dont think the Henry/Locke situation is over. If Henry tells Locke that Michael is evil, who would believe him? If Henry is a top guy, then he thanks Michael and leaves. If he is low level, then he runs but doesnt go back to the Others for fear of being killed. There seems to be many levels to this experiment. Rousseau who has been alone and isolated for years, the survivors with their mini civilization and maybe the other camp living off the land in tents, primitive.

I think its interesting that once people seem to overcome their demons that they die. First Boone, then Shannon, now Ana Lucia. Remember Goodwin thought she was good and misunderstood. The island took her back to the dark place, but she was able to overcome it by not killing Henry. I know that the writers have said that its not purgatorybut clues keep pointing to it. If Libby is dead, then I think we need to consider that she was an Other, perhaps Henrys sister. No flashbacks and her strange connection to Hurley.

My Big Fat Theory !

OkayI always thought the key to Lost was a shift in time. That things are not linear as we assume. Time is moving forwards and backwards. Take a huge clue of the manuscript Bad Twin.

Background:

The manuscript Bad Twin. This is actually a book available on Amazon by Gary Troup. Its the story of a man meeting with his evil twin, kind of a good vs. evil tale. He delivers his manuscript to his editor right before he boards the oceanic plane Sept 2004 and that is of course lost. Same flight, coming from Australia to LA, hotel where he meets the twin is Windmor (same as construction company Michael worked for and maker of Suns pregnancy test). Also Gary Troup is an anagram for Purgatory. Hurley was reading the manuscript early on when they were stranded on the island but then the Tailies and especially Libby come to distract him from reading it. Now Sawyer reading it and just about to the end when Jack throws it into the fire.

Now:

This is of course in my opinion to a shameless way to make money off the show Lost. Just as the Hanso commercial last night was. But I liked that. It was similar to the show The Office having the cast spook the public service announcements on NBC.

But:

What if the book is about the show and it is one big flashback? So the time shift really represents a flashback. The writer is really someone on the island who eventually publishes the book about the good vs. evil aspects of the island. They are on the island reading the transcript that is now a book. Shift.

Just my newest wild theorybut I think there could be a definite tie in.

Conclusion

Next week should be good!!!. Full of lies and continued treachery. Echos fall seemed more surreal in the preview. I dont think he is going to die too. But like everything on the showits clear as mud. Until next week everybodyC-YA!!!!

SOS

Good morning! I am on vacation so please excuse my late post.

It was a very slow episode this week. I think it was for the folks that hate to have to think about all the intricate connections. Everything was simple and out in the open. No hidden clues. It confirmed what we already knew and laid down foundation for future episodes. They cant all be winners!

Summary

I thought that Rose and Bernard had been married for years. It was interesting to find out that it had only been 5 months and that they were on their honeymoon. I liked Sawyers lines as always (Whats wrong Norma Rae? Union trouble down at the factory), Bernard (I liked you better when you hit people with sticks). I like that it seems like Locke is getting his act together again. I dont like crazy, weak Locke. We have confirmation that Ecko is making a church. It is clear that some are quite happy to stay on this island. I think the number will grow. Rose/Bernard (recovery), Jin/Sun (pregnancy and away from father), Locke (he can walk), Hurley (found peace and love), Ecko (reborn priest), Kate (no longer a fugitive), perhaps even Sawyer (man with all the power). I think its an interesting trend.

I want to insert here some crazy wild theories that are out there:
Purgatory (shot down by writers of Lost), alien habitat, all a dream of Hurleys, massive experiment and they are being watched (main one), they are all in the mental institution, they all were on the island as children and brought back as adults, heaven or the other side, collective unconsciousness, and my personal favorite time shift. If you would like an expansion of any of these theories let me know. There are massive clues and connections for eachbut they are all just theories. I like time shift the most because it explains the backward walking, time lapse and the constant flashbacks at the core of the show. One new addition to my ever growing wild theory is the skeletons found in the cave? Could they actual be Rose and Bernard? He said they would never leave. Further, could what we have be seeing all a flashback? Anyway back to the show.

Connections

The big one of course is Rose and Locke. I think there will be more connections to the Losties in the future though. Rose believes she has been healed by the island and so does Locke. Sun has but no one but her knows this (Jin does but he doesnt seem to care). Some have speculated that Rose may have the same disease as Walts mom. But there is not proof of that. I thought it was interesting all the crutches hanging in Isaac the healers place. I stared at the screen and the screen shots of his wall and nothing! I also went online and no one could find a link or a connection either. The healer and Claires psychic are familiar but are not the same person. I figured Isaac had to be someonebut couldnt find a connection.

Isaac mentioned the magnetic healing power of his location but that it couldnt heal her. We already know that the island has a strong magnetic force.

A nice little tribute to Otis Redding, his song was played in the scene with Bernard and Rose. He also died in a plane crash.

Questions

The only real questions I have is what is the significance of the Black Rock? On Rousseaus French recording, she states that is where they crashed (or the name of the ship was the Black Rock). It is here where her team got the sickness and she kills them. From the map last week, it is where Magnus Hanso was buried. Also could it mean the Black Rock is the source of the healing powers? I think us being shown the black rock (to make the SOS sign) and surrounding Jake and Kate at the meeting point of Zeke is important. Just dont know why yet.

The button doesnt count down. When Locke entered the numbers, he held down the button for a few seconds longer. The timer didnt start until he let it go. He was probably mentally contemplating the whole process, and I thought for a minute thought about itbut then he let it go and went back to thinking about the map. But what if he had held it down longer? Walt had said dont push the button, button bad. Henry has said it is a fake (By the way I think he did push it to keep the whole thing going). But what if they just held it down with a weight? They cant not push it, pushing it is doing nothing, so hold it down? I would be really interested if Locke figures it out and tries it.

Michael of course is not going to be the Michael we remember. I think either he is working for the Others now in exchange for his son. When he said that they are not armed, lie. We know they are more sophisticated (Kate and Jakes convo) so they either showed Michael what they wanted him to see or he is saying there are wild unarmed people based on what the survivors use to believe (maybe they do not know that Kate saw the disguises). He was gone too long to have just been their captive and escaped. He was released.for a reason.

Next weeks episode will be a re-run with a new episode the following week. It has been speculated that the remaining weeks will be exciting and leading up to the season finale5 more episodes left. Libby is now the only one we have not seen a flashback for. Hers should be very interesting and telling. We shall see.

C-ya in 2 weeks!

Dave

Chills down my frickin spine!!!!!!

Dude this episode was slowbut the last 15 minutes made it all worth it. Wow! I am a little late because Mandesa was voted off American Idol and I needed to collect myself after that dramabut I digress.

Great lines as always: Saywer: I can buy a whole chain of convenience stores. Do you think Sayid needs a job? And it was classic when Hurley was yanking Sawyer back underneath the tarp. Dave: What? Do you really think they blew up the Death Star? Loved it.

Summary

The absolute beauty of the episode is that they took several of the wild theories and combined them into one storyleaving us with more questions than ever before. For months people (not you guys because you never respond!) but others have always thought the island was the collective unconsciousness of one mind. Some have guessed Hurleybut most thought it was Walt or Aaron (Claires baby). They showed how this theory could be completely possible. But it cant be true because why tell us the ending of the whole thing in the middle of Season Two?!?

They also touched on the survivors being watched. How else would Henry know what Ana Lucia was referring to when she mentioned the guy with the beard? If the beard was fake, how did he know who she was referring to? I also think that Henry knowing about what happens after 108 is either because he knows everything or because he was watching Locke at the time.

We also already concluded that the bearded guy is also a pawn or someone with no real power, Henry reinforced that. I personally think that Henry is THE guy. The ultimate twist in the experiment would be to be among them. He really knows too much to be just another Other. (I saw on the board someone thought this as well and made a great reference to Keyser Sose (sp?) from the Usual Suspects (Henry reminds me of Kevin Spacey!). If you have never seen the movie, shame on you! The line is, "The greatest trick the devil ever pulled was convincing the world he doesnt exist." I thought that was pretty deep in relation to all this. If they no longer believe, they will fall victim to the trap. I didnt believe he pushed the buttonbut now that he said he didnt, I think he is lying.

They revealed Hurleys wrong doing he killed two people due to his sin, gluttony. Seems everyone either killed someone or has dad issues. When Henry mentioned God cant see the island any better than anyone else can.I thought he meant that the hatch doesnt exist and it is all an experiment. Then of course the old purgatory theory. Or that God has forsaken them. Also that it is because the island is cloaked under the magnetic field. I think its more simple than that and he was referring that the island as they think of it doesnt exist.

Connections

I guessed Dave was a figment of Hurleys imagination when he took the picture (pat on the back for me). Of course Libby in the institution sent chills down my spine. The whole connection to the numbers (23 people on a deck, meant for 8, he killed 2 people all the numbers). The other is him playing Connect-Fourpart of the numbersgame of strategy. Dave says "See you in another life" to Hurley just before he dies, this is the same thing Desmond says to Jack when he left him. I was trying to look up who the psychiatrist wassomeone mentioned he was the doctor in the orientation film standing on top of the skyscraper. I have to find a screen shot to confirm. But that would make sense as to how 2 of his former patients ended up on the island. Those were the only ones I could pull out. I thought Leonard was someone or maybe the guy with the basketballbut couldnt find a connection. Dave, when he was running down his hallucination theory to Hurley, talked about the numbers and said, Where else did you see em? I thought he said, Seen him, referring to Leonard being in the hatch. But it was see em meaning the numbers and they were on the hatch (that is why Hurley tried to stop them from blowing it open). I thought I missed something (Oh, the horror!).

Questions

The obviousis this all a hallucination? If so, whose? Why was Libby in the psych ward? Was she watching Hurley as a plant or was she a psychiatrist who snapped? Who is Henry Gale really? Is he just and Other or someone more important? Is he the HE? What is he really up to? Did he push the numbers? Anther weekmore questions!

Conclusion

I am just glad next week is not a repeat. I am still reeling from this episode so I wasnt paying attention to the preview. Probably doesnt matter because nothing exciting will occur until the end anyway. But staying true.Ill be therewith remote control and laptopready to go!

Lockdown

Hidee Ho!

It’s Spring Break. Whohoo!!! Cancun? Mazatlan? Hell no…Just looking forward to a new episode of Lost! Sorry for the delay..fell asleep. But there was soooo much to process this week.

On to the show…and remember our new format (Summary, Connections, Questions).

Summary

I thought it was a good episode. I do like it more when the flashbacks tie in better to the story. This time, it was a peek, but not a full look. Good Sawyer and Jack scenes… best line goes to Kate (“Should I go get a ruler?”) Hurley was good as well.

KNEW IT!!! The “Henry” is an Other. But is he?!? We will discuss this later in the Questions section. He is definitely playing Locke, who is once again being set-up. I think that the flashback to Locke being a Home Inspector definitely illustrates how his previous life figures into the island (analyzing, observing, knowing how to fix things) definitely better than working for a Box Company.

I think they would all be better off if they talked more to each other. No one shares information which adds to the confusion. Locke probably will not mention the map, Kate did not mention the beard…so it is no wonder that they don’t ask the right questions when the time comes – they don’t share or ask them of each other.

Connections

This is a hard section because there were so many….the map stuff I got off the website because I don’t speak Latin at all.

Locke Flashback

Cooper (Locke’s father) is a con artist. We know he is rich and conned Locke out of his liver…but was he really? Rich men don’t hide out in motels even if they were faking their own death. The con is the most important part. Cooper is Sawyer. Remember Sawyer (James) took on the alter ego of the man he is trying to find. That man is Cooper (Locke’s dad). I thought Maybe Helen was in on it too (the long con) but I don’t think so. I think the bigger link is between Locke and Sawyer. The safe deposit box had some of the numbers in it. And Kate was trying to rob a safe deposit box…but I think the clearer link is Locke and Sawyer.

You all saw Nadia as the new owner of the house that Locke was inspecting. So she did not die as Sayid thought.

Oceanic plane flying overhead as Locke was at the motel at the end.

When Helen was at the door of the motel, she said, “Are you him?” Just like Desmond said to Locke when they were in the hatch.

Back on the Island

Food from the food drop was for the swan hatch (swan logo on the food).

Address on driver’s license for the real Henry Gale matches flight number of the plane. There are a lot of other similarities to the numbers on the driver license – added up etc they all relate to the numbers.

Great picture of the map on the wall- http://lost.cubit.net/pics/2x17/blastDoorMap.jpg

Below are the Latin translations of the words –
Cogito Ergo Doleo - I think therefore I am depressed
sursum corda - lift up your hearts
Malum consilium quod mutari non potest - It’s a bad plan that can’t be changed.
(Publilius Syrus) Malum prohibitum - A prohibited wrong. ...
aegrescit medendo - the treatment is worse than the disease (BEST ONE)
Hic sunt dracones - Here be dragons (maybe the magnetic field…black smoke?)
Ut sit magna, tamen certe lenta ira deorum est - The wrath of the gods may be great, but it certainly is slow
Credo nos in fluctu eodem esse - I think we're on the same wavelength
CVII = 107
CVIII = 108

The entire map shows the connections between the hatches and what has gone on before. It is believed that Desmond made this map.

Questions

Okay…here is where the wild theories run rampant.

Henry was sent to scout for the food drop and was using Henry Gale as his cover. He is captured by the French woman and then Sayid. So the options are that he is an Other, trying to get the food since the survivors are in the hatch. Or he is part of the Dharma group and is helping to shift the experiment. Or he is Kelvin (Desmond’s partner-thought to be dead).

I think the doors come down so that the drop can be made. Somehow the magnetic field is lowered so that the parachute can pass and land. Maybe it’s also to keep them from pushing the button, which maintains the magnetic field. I think Desmond and Kelvin (Henry) are part of the experiment and have found answers…but are still clueless. They are there to push the button every 108. They are then restricted from pushing the button when the food drop is made. I think Henry went and reset the system and opened the doors for Locke. He didn’t leave because he needs something from Locke as well as from the group. Better to create an ally.

The doors start to close and Henry is panicked. He typically doesn’t speak to them outside just listens and gains more insight. So why now? Because he knew what was happening. Remember he questioned about how the food got there etc. He was really trying to find out what they knew. Or perhaps trying to establish a time line? The doors come down to indicate the dropping of the food. I thought the woman sounded like Helen… but it was really someone indicating the coordinates and count down for the drop. I think once Henry was out….he shut off the function and reopened the door. No way he remembered those numbers he just heard once…can you recite them and we have heard them for over a year!

Sayid knew Henry was lying because as he said, “he had no passion for his wife.” So he continued to dig and see that it was really someone else. The real Henry Gale is connected somehow to them, but it is still unknown how.

So big things that happened:
-Confirmed Henry is lying
-Outside contact with the world possible (food drop)
-Map on the wall of the Hatch

The Week Ahead

Did you see the preview for next week!!! Don’t eat the food! It’s contaminated…or laced with a hallucinogenic? Think...Hurley has been sneaking food from the hatch…taking more than everyone else…the rest eat the fish and fruit – he needs the processed junk. Only logical that he would be affected first.

Have a great rest of the week!!!

The Whole Truth

I know I'm late, Ryan. I am starting to get some semblance of a life! :) Is that alright with you!!!

Hi all! We have some new members to the Lost cult. We will get them all!!! (Insert evil laugh here). I think I am going to become more organized in thought. So to summarize the show you really have to do it on 3 levels...General summary, Connections and Questions.

Okay....on to the show.

Summary:

Good episode. More background. Small clues this week, more character development. Always look at the show titles for clues. This week, "The Whole Truth" - the quest for them to learn the truth about Henry and to learn about Sun's pregnancy. Both of which still leave questions. I loved Charlie this week. He is becoming sharper as the weeks roll by, a little crazy, but also sharp. Of course Sawyer's "Sunshine" nickname. Always good ones. I think the episode drew more lines for us between who will eventual become enemies and allies. Henry yet again proving he is an Other more and more. I truly believe he is part of the experiment. He is not there to hurt them....but to push the experiment in more directions. He makes them question their humanity (Sayid), the trust issues (Locke and Jack), logic (being in the hatch, map) - in every way. Of course if he was an Other he would have seen the real Henry land in the hot air balloon. So Ana Lucia, Sayid and Charlie finding it means nothing. Also if the Others were observing...not to hard to make that happen. Remember rain=others. Always a tie between the two.

Connections:

The name of the pregnancy test company was Widmore. The same name as the construction company that was in Charlie's flashback episode. Also the name of the construction company Michael worked for.

When Locke said the "running like the devil is chasing you" comment to Ana Lucia, It was the same exchange between Desmond and Jack in the stadium back in Australia.

Pregnancy test - someone on the plane thought they were pregnant? Who? Some think Shannon. Has to be someone who is still there and no point for it to be Shannon, she's dead. But I think probably Libby (Psychologist). There has got to be a reason...they never show something just for the heck of it. And it wasn't already on the island, no Hanso logo.

I think Ana Lucia and Sayid just may hook up eventually. But its gonna take him breaking down in front of her..angry love. :)

I found the dialogue between Sawyer and Bernard on the beach. I didn't post it because there are no real clues there...small talk. But I think there is a BIG connection between that and Walt. Perhaps Walt is speaking in another language? Much like how Jin hears it the same way as Shannon. I always assumed it was because of some sort of time shift and that's why they hear it at a different speed and backwards. I think there is more to it than that. Would Jin understand if Walt talked to him? That would be a cool twist!

The 2 books: Are you there God, it's me Margaret...which I loved as a kid (We must, we must, we must increase our busts!) Story about a preteen girl who grew up with no religion, one parent Christian and the other Jewish. It explored her quest for a single religion as well as liking boys and general pre-teen crap.

And The Brother Karamazov - To sum it up - A Russian book about brothers who have kill their father with different levels on complicity.

The literary stuff is too deep for me....just give me the rain, Hanso logos and black smoke any day!

Questions:

No one found it odd that Charlie had a gun? Of all people. Not to mention I thought Ana Lucia noticed his clothing and put it together that he was the one that took Sun. But alas no.

Is Jin the father? Now the show plays many tricks on us..with Sun's reactions and smiles. If she really questioned how he could be fertile now and not before, why not ask Jack? He is a doctor. Ask about the odds of the original diagnosis being wrong. She responded "its complicated." Not the same as its not suppose to be possible. Why are Sun and Locke hiding their miraculous physical changes? I think because for Locke it was all psychological and for Sun it's not Jin's. Sometimes the correct explanation is the obvious one. Sun is also a smart woman. She knows what the pregnancy can mean being on the island - possible abduction. Is she afraid of what it could be? I think there is very little chance of her having this baby on the island. I cannot see that in her future. But it could be an interesting twist. But think about it...we are on day 60-65 in Lost land, and its season 2. That baby is not going to be here any time soon.

I like Sun...but I think she is lying through her teeth. She tells him you're sterile. But I never slept with anyone else. Of course he doesn't want to face the fact that he could have been sterile and happily accepts he's the father. But the dates don't really add up...she slept with him just 2 weeks ago when he came back from the raft....they have only been there 60 days total. For her to have those symptoms takes time. She is crafty. Everyone has secrets on this island. And their character flaws revealed.

The previews for next week looked great! I heard Desmond is the voice on the loud speaker as the walls come down. I have no doubt that Henry does something to cause the walls to come down. Locke and him are trapped inside together. Can't wait!!!

That's all I have for now.

C-ya!!!

Maternity Leave

My computer crashed. ARGH!!! Luckily I have 4 others. :)

I had just finished typing!!! SO I am going to try and remember everything I wrote.

A whole hour and 3 minutes this week…. Yippee! Is that suppose to make us ignore the fact that Lost will not be on next week!?! But it was gooooood tonight!

I think the BEST part of the episode was the glue!!! Man when I saw that…I couldn’t believe it! It’s all a scam. I knew the man in the hall was Zeke by the voice…and from when he met Jack that he didn’t have any real power. It all adds to the illusion of being “stranded’ on the island. Pushing a make believe button. Perhaps the “others” get on and off the island. There must be a larger bunker which is where they live. They are watching the survivors. Back to the theory that the black smoke is some sort of security system.

We are all being led to believe that the intern was Alex…but there is more to that I’m sure. Why leave her mother in the jungle all these years? Maybe it’s be there instead of prison for going crazy and killing her crew. So many more questions!!!

Sawyer and his “Thelma” comment (as in Thelma and Louise). Notice the NUMBERS were on the medicine bottles.

Mr. Ecko being a bad ass as usual, cool as can be. He knows Henry is an Other. I kind of saw it 2 ways…he felt he had to confess to the Others and David is the only Other he can confess to. Or that none of the survivors would understand being remorseful for killing an Other. I think Mr. Ecko understands that he should have been taken. He wants back on the “good” list. I know he is a plant…but to get what? Or who? What is so important about the lists? Was Henry sent in to get the list? Any ides who the “he” Zeke was referring to. I first thought Hanso the head guy. But what if they are referring to Henry Gale? Why bring him up at all if there is no connection.

On to Claire. The lullaby is the song she asked if the adopted parents knew from season 1. Odd how it just happens to be playing on the mobile. I think the psych doc was on to something about projecting prior memories into current experiences. Also interesting that it is a song that Claire’s father use to sing. Dad issues again. Reminds me of the movie The Village. The parents thinking they are doing what is in the best interest for themselves and their children after they all experience a traumatic event. Maybe all the dad’s are in on the experiment. Far fetched but let’s just go crazy! It’s just as crazy as thinking the plane was crashed on purpose to get them there. Why little oceanic planes on the mobile. Kind of like product placement.

I’m tired…must finish typing. J Again, Claire was in the hatch maybe a month ago…why does it seem so old? Time shift theory keeps rearing its ugly head. Zeke just wore that beard for Jack etc….why would he have left it abandoned down there? I am going to be interested if and when she reveals to Jack the clothes and costumes. And of course…why didn’t they go down the other corridor? The one the Ethan steered her away from. Questions, questions, questions! Some semi answers.

All in all… a good episode. See ya in 2 weeks everybody. ‘night!

One of Them

Hey all!

Pretty straight forward episode. Hurley is fat and hiding food. Sawyer is going to throw in his typical low blows (Rerun, Barbar) and then pulls an *sshole move and killed the frog (Tiger can’t change his stripes). Jack trying to do the right thing and someone else doing their version of the right thing (didn’t you just want to smack him?!?). And it will go all the way to the end with very little revealed.

Then Pow!

Where to start!

Here are some crazy theories about Henry:

1. He’s an Other. He didn’t feel the pain and anguish you feel when you love someone who died. If he was all alone and buried her he would remember that pain. He also looked up at Sayid like “Ha! You didn’t get me!” I get the whole Locke thing about everyone is an other and quite possibly another group could arrive and then they become the others. But for now he is an other.

2. The connection between him and the Wizard of Oz also leads to he’s lying. Henry Gale was Dorothy’s Uncle, Dorothy’s last name is Gale, and of course the whole Hot Air Balloon. Notice when he said he was “Rich”? Was that his social position or his name? Like I did it because I was Rich, the type of guy to do adventurous things. Not I was rich, I had money.

3. Finally….remember that they found the skeletons of a couple in the cave? Could they be dead and he merely is a manifestation! Hmmmm..

As for the symbols on the counter….couldn’t you just scream! Anyway, they were Egyptian hieroglyphics = swd 3 = DIE, and it's a causative, which means it's a command to die. So the symbol means = “Cause to die.” I found the actual picture with the letter translation. I have no idea what it means in relation to everything. The alarm sounded, something was powering up and the doors were closing. But was that to keep something outside out or the other way around (Remember, quarantine is written on the inside, not the outside of the doors).

I believe Sayid knows Charlie is involved with the Sun kidnapping. He was like you know first hand how evil they were. NOONE was afraid of this guy and even suspected that he could have been the one who attempted to take Sun. Why is that? It was more of, who is he. Sayid knew that if they really wanted to take Sun, they would have and that only someone who was crazy with fear (Like Charlie is for Claire and her baby) would do something like that. I think it is interesting that Sawyer and Sayid turned to Charlie.

And finally…Kate’s dad (in the jeep looking at her picture). I missed it the first time I watched it. It was so quick. Not to mention the further connection of Sayid being arrested on TV in the background when Kate went to visit her father at the recruiting office. So many ties and so many links. Makes me wonder how tied we are in real life to one another???

That’s it for me. No Lost until March. :( I saw the preview (coming soon on Lost) and checked. The next episode is going to be good! Claire was taken to a medical facility (symbol on door). By who and for what??? Stay tuned…

The Long Con

Well hello everyone...

I can't help but love this show. Man! I hope the “sickness” is spreading and we get more folks infected at HTH. This is going to be a long one so bare with me. The stuff just keeps coming to me!!! Did you figure out the common thread???? It’s at the end of this in case you didn’t.

This was a tough one again this week. I didn’t like to see Charlie suffer last week and get punked in the end of the episode and now Sawyer reverting to his evil ways. Of course he never really changed…just was injured. But I think opportunity to con and truly being bad are not mutually exclusive. He can be an opportunist and still have some good in him. It seems slowly that they are breaking every character down.

Between Hurley and Sawyer, Sawyer wins for the best lines:

Hurley -
Are you going to put the Lime in the coconut and drink it all up?

Sawyer -
To Jack: Hang on, I'm about to get the high score on Donkey Kong.

To Locke: Sure, Sun gets attacked in the jungle, and you think it's a good time to start using the Dewey Decimal System.

Calling Jin Tokyo Rose.

And to Charlie: Look who had to relocate to the suburbs.

Love it!

Okay….clues….

Hurley threw that comment out about, “or another time.” When referring to the transmission. But I don’t think that means anything….yet another shout out by the writers to the freaks like me and our hair brain theories. Unless of course you connect that to when he was in the bunker the psychiatrist made a comment about the washer and dryer being newer than anything else? Hmmm…

Interesting that they have a Doctor, Psychiatrist and now a Dentist on the island? Why mention Bernard’s profession? Everyone - Sayid, Ana Lucia, Jack, Ecko, etc - former professions in life factors into their role on the island.

Back to more concrete things…I knew it was one of them who stole Jin. Because the dog was around and barked when Shannon got shot when it was the Others. Dog knew Charlie. And of course the watch he was wearing. I did remember the connection between the rain and the Others…but again…the writers throwing a curve ball.

Locke was probably looking for more parts of the reel in the books. The book he was shaking “Owl Creek Bridge” is about a civil war guy about to be hanged. But then he escapes from his captors and runs to freedom. Of course there is a loud noise and his neck is snapped and we find out he in fact is hanged and it was all in his mind that he got away. Surprisingly enough…I am taking it at face value and it is referring back to the whole episode being a con.

Interesting tidbit….Sayid and Hurley were listening to Glenn Miller on the radio. Glenn Miller disappeared as he was flying to Paris for a Christmas concert. He was never found, presumed dead in a plane crash. I get chills when I think of that.

I think that is it for now. Did you figure out the common thread???? The link this week was between Sawyer and Kate. Calling his girlfriend dimples and Kate freckles…subtle. But the big one was notice anything about the waitress at the diner where Sawyer met the other con man?? Kate’s mom.

Okay…that’s it for me. ‘nite.

What Kate Did

That was soooooo cool! I liked the way we finally have the answers to the Tallies and can now focus on the real mysteries of the island.

Loved this episode!!!!! I was on the edge of my seat just like the first time. I do however think they cheated by the whole "extended episode" and then used it up just showing us what we already knew in fast forward.

I think above everything else the message in this episode is how most people are totally wrong with their stupid theories. It seems that the island makes more sense then we have given it credit. 2 separate groups came to the same conclusions, same type of mini civilization. (there was a plant in each group, no one is looking for them, stay away from the Others.) Although our main group have more answers, they both know basically the same thing.

I liked how time was used to illustrate how misconceptions can be created. Echo was nicely groomed, in a business suit, but given some time his hair is overgrown and he has shed most of his clothes. Same with Ana Lucia. She seemed like such a bad *ss with her sleeveless leather jacket....and now we see she just cut off the sleeves due to the heat. By the way..Echo is probably a minister. His need for prayer, he paused while looking at the bible, his need to pull the bodies out of the water and lay them to rest, his remorse over having to kill in self-defense. Ana Lucia was at one time in the military or police I think. That will come out eventually. She also obviously had a child, she might have given up for adoption? Too many connections - Claire, Michael with not wanting their children.

Free flowing thoughts:

Ana Lucia's comment last week about, "This time, this one's on you." to Echo. Perhaps regret over Nathan and her wrongly thinking he was an Other and leading to his death by Goodwin.

I think the most important thing discovered tonight is the Others look, speak and can act just like them and Goodwin said, "the kids are fine, they are in a better place." Not too mention, "Nathan was bad...that's why he WASN'T on the list." Walt burned down the raft because he didn't want to leave the island. Why does he, Locke and the Others think this place is a Utopia?? What is Walt really trying to convey?

I am back to my thought of a split in time. I think on the island, time is not linear. When the others were walking last week, the kids were not being held against their will. Why are they in different brown clothes but Walt in his visions is still in his plane clothes? I think that is the biggest clue. If he is with the Others, why is he not dressed like them as the other children were (brown pant leg dragging teddy bear on a string)?

I think we are going to have to wait on answers and just enjoy the merging of the 2 groups next week. I can't wait to see Bernard/Rose and Jin/Sun reunite. Also how Locke and Echo will relate to one another...and the whole Jack/Kate/Sawyer thing...with a dash of Ana Lucia from the bar.

Side note: The voices lead each group to one another......possibly a set-up from the Others? Leading Ana Lucia to shoot Shannon in supposed self-defense...they obviously can attack and get them at any time....I don't think they want them.

The Other 48 Days

Abandoned

Hey all! I love this show!!!

What we learned...thoughts..and theories...

We learned that Shannon's father was the man that Jack's future wife hit in the car accident - he of
course saving her and eventually marrying her. (Did you see Jack walk by when the doctor turned and
walked toward Shannon and her step-mom). I think this was mentioned earlier but we received confirmation tonight.

Walt I think was saying to Shannon in the tent, "Shannon, don't follow me". I am not sure if Walt
is dead or if he is with the others and sending messages back to them. Addition: Just found the audio played
backwards (I suck...what do you expect?!? It was backwards!) Anyway he says: "they're coming, they're their close."
There is a faint dog bark in the background meaning that he was in the forest in the rain warning Shannon of this moment.
Was he warning them about Ana and the group or the others??? In the forest, he is just telling her o Shhh!

The others must look like normal people for Ana to have shot Shannon. Or perhaps she was just trying to
shut her up? Actually the growing theory is that she wasn't the one who shot Shannon. That is was the French Lady (bigger gun, notice the gunshot sound was loud) and maybe Ana shot the dog (because it was low to the ground, running fast, kind of like the wild boars). Remember Ana said that "one bullet wouldn't stop them." So why would she try? Shannon was also screaming Walt's name and Ana knows about Walt.

I don't trust the psychologist either (Cindy)....she should have known her friend wasn't behind her. Something is off with her.

Lots of parallels between Echo for the Tallies group and Lott for the main group. Could be interesting to see them together.

But below is my theory on the whole Walt and Whispers thing:

I always thought that time shift is a major factor on the island. I think that things shift sideways or jump forward.

An example would be the first view of the hatch with Desmond and he is clean and it is bright and fresh. Then the alarm and he is scruffy and the place is leaking water.

Another is Walt...always dripping wet in his visions to Shannon and his recent sighting in the rain when she is shot, warning her.
Could his speech be backwards because he is moving backwards through time? When time catches up, and they see him he will speak normally.

Back to the whispers, I think the whispers are them...all of them. Speaking to each other in another dimension to time. If you try to make out what they are saying...some of the words sound like normal conversation.

I think the "others" know the island because it is them in the future stranded for so long. DOesn't explain everything...but makes a little sense.

That's it for now. Thoughts?

Everybody Loves Hugo

Okay....that was a cheap trick to have Jin talking English just be Hurley's dream sequence. Of course I will have to search the internet to see the going theory on why Jin and who was the guy in the Chicken suit (Okay, re-watched it - guy who sold Hurley the lottery ticket).

But too much theories spoil some of it though because meeting Bernard for the first time should have sent chills and surprise....but I was expecting him (I had read he was alive and going to be a new cast member and that he wasn't black.)

Good shocks though: 1) the kidnapped people are on the other side of the hatch. 2) the Chernobyl comment by Sayid 3) the others could be the other people from the plane, just gone crazy (the sickness, possibly radiation)...maybe? 4) Hurley's friend, "Suck-Shaft" instead of Drive Shaft. The big one - 5) Hurley was having his pig-out hallucination and dreaming he was drinking milk from a milk carton, Walt was the missing child on the side of the carton. I love Tivo! There is going to be an ongoing connection between Hurley and Jin. Hurley was on the TV in the background when Jin went to collect for Sun's father. We already know Hurley owns the Box company Locke worked for.

Alright time for bed....

P.S. Okay..I just read a pretty good spoiler. Email me and I will tell you what it is... But again like Rose's husband being alive...it takes away some of the surprise. It has to do with bearded guy on the boat that took Walt in the season finale. Opens some doors...closes some others....
